What to Buy During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

As a pre-teen to middle school-aged girl, I always looked forward to going to Nordstrom when I visited my Grandma Doris in Detroit every summer. It was so fun going shopping for back to school clothes with her and my mom. We grabbed a bite to eat after at the Nordstrom Cafe most times too. I loved my experience shopping there so much that as a freshman in high school, I applied to join the Nordstrom B.P. Fashion Board, which was essentially a group of high school students that met once a month. We went behind the scenes in the fashion industry, connected with fashion pros even all the way from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising out in LA, and made lots of friends who also had a “passion for fashion”. A handful of the girls are still some of my best friends to this day nearly 10 years later. I loved my experience on the fashion board so much so that I REALLY wanted to work for Nordstrom! Summer of 2014 (the summer before I moved to Nashville for college), I worked on the sales floor in the B.P. department. I had so much fun getting to style girls and develop a personal relationship with them. The Anniversary Sale was something I looked forward to every year anyway! It’s crazy to me how items that are brand new are so discounted - but only for a short time. In case you have not shopped the Anniversary Sale before, you can read more about it further down.
Important Dates
August 4th – icon level cardholders get to shop the sale.
August 7th – ambassador level cardholders are able to shop the sale.
August 10th – influencers level cardholders can shop the sale
August 13th – known as the “Early Access Sale”. All Nordstrom cardholders are able to shop the sale before it opens to the public.
August 19 – The sale opens to the public! Everyone and anyone can shop the sale!
August 30 - The last day of the sale!
